Beret and Baguette Ride.

Saturday I missed this ride that celebrated Frenchness, or rather the cliche'. It's the parisian version of the Tweed Ride that takes place in many different cities.

Why do these folks seem to do everything right? This video will make you want to ride for a long, long time....in really expensive gear. Watch it full screen.

Alex Singer

Last week I took the Metro to Levallois Perret to visit Alex Singer Cycles just outside the peripherique of Paris. They've been building bikes for three generations since 1936. From what I understand the shop employs the builder, Olivier Sucain, and one young apprentice. Olivier is the son of builder Ernest Sucain who acquired the business from his uncle in 1964.

Sorry about the quality of these photos. They were taken with my iPhone.

Frame 0001

I'll post better pics of this, the first frame to come out of my shop, when I get back from France and get them from the new owner, Jon.
